Member of the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance, ATDI took part of the Fifth Meeting DSA Global Summit in Cape Town, 9-11 May 2017, co-hosted by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).

The summit gathered regulators, ITU, private companies and non-profit organizations project managers to address numerous challenges related to dynamic sharing of Spectrum, a finite resource where innovative approaches, adapted regulations and robust methodologies can turn Spectrum scarcity to Spectrum Abundance (as emphasized by Kalpak Gude, President, DSA in its introduction).

White Space (WS) optimization was one of the main topics discussed and allowed ATDI to come back on its WS Devices Calculation methodology presented in Accra (Ghana) in 2014 during a previous DSA summit. This accurate methodology, integrated in its software suites, aims at aligning the interests of all the stakeholders: regulators’ social mission to connect populations,  protection of licensed incumbents, WS devices providers businesses and users’ expectations.

ITU took the opportunity of a panel dedicated to regulators’ visions to remind the members of joining ITU study groups to exchange best practices and propose recommendations.
