ATDI has updated its process to manage analogue and digital Broadcast coordination (RRC04-06 fully compliant)
March, 2006
The RRC04/06 report mainly concerns administrations belonging to the planning zone of the Radiocommunications Regional Conference for digital television and audio broadcast in the 174-230 MHz band and in the 470-862 MHz band. This zone covers region 1 (no 5.3 of radiocommunications rules) (parts of region 1 located East of the 170° East meridian and North of the 40° South parallel, with the exception of Mongolia) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The RRC rules give full flexibility to the Administrations in the formulation of the requirements to be provided to the RRC04-06 and in order to help administrations belonging to the above-mentioned zone to submit their needs, ATDI has improved its radioplanning tool ICS telecom V8 and its spectrum management tool ICS manager.
The administrations are allowed to choose between assignments and allotments and between single- and multiple-frequency networks. It is possible to use reference or individual planning configurations, as well as reference networks or individual transmitter characteristics. The choice depends on the specific needs of each country.
Therefore, it necessitates a high responsibility for Administrations to make a reasonable choice for themselves and for the planning process as a whole.
This document deals with the entire RRC04-06 process:
The computation can be using the ITU-R 1546-2 recommendation or the RR04 model, depending on the area concerned...
The whole process is described in details in these White Papers RRC 04-06 Process and RRC 04-06 Reference Network.
